School Improvement Team
Our highly experienced School Improvement Team work closely with the leadership of our schools to ensure that every one of our 8,000 pupils receives a consistently high-quality education. Our CEO is a former headteacher in outstanding Catholic schools within the Diocese, as well as working for many years as both an Ofsted and Diocesan Canonical Inspector.
We have a Senior Director of School Improvement (a former Senior Her Majesty’s Inspector), a Deputy Director of School Improvement, and four part-time Trust Leaders of Excellence in Education (TLEEs). All of our Directors and TLEEs have an outstanding record of school improvement as Headteachers, and three of them are currently serving Ofsted Inspectors. Each of our 25 schools receives a regular visit from at least one of our Directors or TLEEs, identifying areas of good practice as well as areas for improvement. Support and guidance is given to improve and, where great work is identified, this is shared with other schools.
We also have an experienced full-time Trust Lead for pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. The final member of our School Improvement Team is our Data Manager, who expertly analyses the information provided on pupil progress, attainment and many other areas to help schools better identify how they can have the greatest impact in ensuring pupils achieve to the best of their ability.
Our School Improvement Team works in partnership with carefully selected Trusts nationally, recognised for exceptional practice. The research wing of the team also works in partnership with Oxford University. There is an absolute drive and ambition to work to the level of the best. The team also works in close partnership with other Diocesan Trusts to share ideas and practice.
Regular training and support is provided to our schools so that each member of staff has the opportunity to increase their expertise, progress in their career, access the latest information and guidance for their role and create links with members of staff in other schools.
