Simon Redfern
Prior to becoming the second CFO of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy trust in late 2021, Simon worked for 25 years in Senior Finance roles, including 14 years in practice at KPMG, where he initially trained to become ACA qualified and latterly studied for an Executive MBA.
At KPMG, Simon was responsible for the provision of audit and financial advisory services to a number of Midlands-based listed organisations, across a broad remit of tax, M&A, valuations, pensions and more general advisory services. Simon was also the Head of an Audit Department of 80 and accordingly played an active part in KPMG’s Midlands People Strategy.
Since leaving KPMG in 2011, Simon worked at IMI plc as Head of External Reporting, before moving internally to become Deputy Group Treasurer, implementing a world-wide Treasury Management System and passing Treasury exams to become AMCT qualified.
In 2016, Simon left IMI to become Group Financial Controller and Treasurer at St. Mowden Properties Plc, before moving into a more commercial role as Divisional CFO of their Strategic Land & Regeneration business.
