Andrew Muldoon

Andrew was educated at St Mary’s Derby before moving to St Benedict, both of these Academies are now part of the St Ralph Sherwin CMAT.  After leaving school, he gained a 2:1 in Business Administration from the University of Derby.

Andrew then became a Graduate Trainee within the LPG industry where he spent 7 years with multiple roles culminating in Branch Manage for two sites.  The role involved direct responsibility for profitability of the centre’s, the distribution logistics and the road haulage regulations, each of the branches had a busy trade counter and the employment of employees.

He took the opportunity to move to become an Area Manager within the Electro-Mechanical industry.  Working with construction companies to achieve solutions in a cost effective way, this was a very commercial sector.  The sectors he worked in within industry were very heavily focused on Health and Safety which have led to him achieving his IOSH & NEBOSH qualifications.

From this role, he became the Operations Manager for Derby City Council and this was his first role within the public sector.  He was responsible for the Cleaning Caretaking and Catering across 200 sites with a workforce of 700.  This included 79 of the schools in the city.

Over time he was dealing more and more with School Business Managers and relished the opportunity to become one.  He completed a Diploma in School Business Management and was successfully appointed as the School Business Manager at Padget High School in Burton-On-Trent.  This was a secondary school of 850 pupils which also had a community Orchard/Farm.  His responsibilities within this role were Finance, Human Resources, Line management of Office Administration, Catering, Caretaking, Cleaning and ICT.  This role gave a great grounding into the educational working environment with the support of being a Local Authority School, with a focus on statutory compliance.

Following three successful years, he was appointed as Director of Finance and Business at Saint Benedict CVA.  He was honored and privileged to be able to bring his expertise into the Catholic academy sector.  He was a member of the working parties assisting in the planning for academisation of all the schools within the Diocese of Nottingham.  Andrew continued at Saint Benedict until the formation of the St Ralph Sherwin CMAT where is he now the Estates and Facilities Manager.

Andrew is a proud father of three who are all being educated within one of our primary schools within the CMAT.  Andrew and his family attend St Alban’s Parish, where he represents the Parish for one of the Deanery working groups, and supports additional Diocesan, Parish and Deanery initiatives (when family commitments allow between the children’s activities/lessons).
