Sarah Reader

Sarah joined the Trust’s Executive Leadership team in February 2021 as HR Manager to the HR Function within the Trust’s central team based at St. Katherine’s House, Derby.

Prior to this Sarah had over 14 successful years within HR in the NHS.  Having obtained a place on the NHS HR Graduate Scheme in 2006.  Sarah remained in the NHS to build up her knowledge and expertise in HR.  During her time there Sarah worked in a variety of Trusts including mental health and community across Derby, Derbyshire and Staffordshire to gain a broad range of experiences.  She worked at a number of different levels during this time, starting as an HR Graduate trainee to Senior HR Business Partner all the time building her career and knowledge in HR and the public sector.  While with the NHS she supported a number of change programmes both small and large scale, TUPE, supported employee relations cases, developed and implemented policies, built good working relationships with the managers she supported and worked closely with Trade Unions.

Sarah is enthusiastic about her new role and how it can make a difference to the HR function in the Trust.

She is passionate about ensuring the HR function supports the business and school needs, and has a customer orientated focus, while striving for excellence.

Sarah is a chartered member of the CIPD and is a qualified Mental Health First Aider.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her two young boys.  She is also enjoying getting out for a run or reading a good book.
